Rashi Agarwal Favier is a multi-faceted woman. A sustainable fashion advocate, social media specialist, founder of a handbag brand, and even a comedian, Amsterdam-based Rashi does it all. Rashi’s brand, Raff, offers structural and minimal accessories handmade by artisans in India, made in ethical and sustainable ways. Rashi is known for her comedic videos about life as a long-term resident of The Netherlands, covering everything from the art of dodging tourists whilst cycling, to living amongst the world’s tallest people

We chatted to Rashi about all things her work, inspirations, and what living a good life means to her.

Can you introduce yourself in a few sentences?

An Indian in Amsterdam exploring culture, food, and the quirks of Dutch life, and hacks for thriving in the heart of the Netherlands. I am passionate about sustainable fashion, feminism and the discourse on race and decolonisation. I bring light to these topics through my perspective with my content online and my stand up comedy.

What do you do for work? How did you get to where you are today?

I am currently job hunting in communications or social media roles in non profit/sustainable fashion. On the side I make content online on Instagram, YouTube and TikTok and am part of the Dutch sustainable HERO circle where we fight for climate action and human rights in the fashion industry.

What does living a good life mean to you?

A life of freedom, friends, love and independence. Using your privilege to bring good and kindness into the world.

What’s something you wish you’d known 5 years ago?

No one knows what they are doing and everyone is winging it just like you are.

Who’s someone (famous!) you look up to?

Fearless journalists in Gaza like Mohtaz and Bisan.

What’s the best life lesson you’ve learnt?

Rejection is redirection.

What do you dream about?

Owning a small summer home by the sea somewhere in southern Europe.

What is one thing you recommend?

Being authentically yourself.
