Vincent Catani is taking over the eyewear space. Originally from Finland, he's a long-term Copenhagen resident, where he's made a name for himself with his hyped collections of eyewear. According to Hypend, Vincent is known for his unique designs. In a profile of the designer, Hypend said: "What sets Catani apart is his unwavering commitment to craftsmanship and attention to detail. Each pair of Vincent Catani Sunglasses is meticulously handcrafted in the city of Sabae, Fukui, Japan, renowned for housing the world's most skilled eyewear craftsmen. This fusion of Scandinavian design and Japanese expertise yields eyewear that epitomizes both elegance and durability." Here, Vincent speaks to Social Capital about his journey so far.

Can you introduce yourself in a few sentences?

My name is Vincent Catani. I'm an eyewear designer from Helsinki, Finland living in Copenhagen. I am 28 years old and I have lived in Copenhagen for 7 years and I love it here. I enjoy creative work and staying active by skateboarding and boxing. My work allows me to travel the world and observe different cultures which I enjoy immensely. 

What do you do for work? How did you get to where you are today?

I am an eyewear designer with my own label called Vincent Catani. We launched our first luxury eyewear collection 2 years ago. It has been an amazing journey. I got here by asking myself what I wanted to do in life after I graduated from school. There has only been one dream I have had in my life, which was to create my own eyewear collection and brand. After that, it was to just take it one step at a time towards that goal and to give it my all every day. I will continue to do so until I no longer feel fulfilled by my career. 

What does living a good life mean to you?

I have amazing people around me who I love and who love me. 

What’s something you wish you’d known 5 years ago?

Hmmm I really appreciate the journey I am on and I love looking back at it. I always try to keep that in mind when times are tough. 

Who’s someone (famous!) you look up to?

I have always admired David Beckham. I also look up to David Bowie.

What’s the best life lesson you’ve learnt?

One day at a time. Treat others like you want to be treated. 

What do you dream about?

I am 90 with my wife and still having the best time every day.
